International Artist Anita Wood has a
passion for watercolors and from the beginning fell in love with the
luminosity and transparency that can only be achieved through
watercolors. It is the excitement of that crisp white sheet of paper and
knowing that just by applying water and color you enter a magical world!
Financial reasons necessitated a career outside of the art world, and
during a successful career of operating her own computer consulting and
accounting business, Anita spent any free time painting, studying,
teaching and showing her work while establishing herself as an artist.
In 2000, after selling her business, Anita was finally able to devote
her time to her paintings. She has and continues to study with many fine
and reputable artists. She is an active member and the Treasurer of the
Creative Artist Guild, Dunedin, Florida, the Dunedin Fine Arts Center,
Florida, the West Pasco Art Guild, New Port Ritchie, Florida, the
Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour – CSPWC, and the Bridge
Street Artists at the Station Arts Center, Tillsonburg, Ontario.
Anita teaches watercolor classes and workshops throughout Southern
Ontario and Florida, focusing on her love of vibrant Flowers, Still
Life, and the beauty of nature in Landscapes.
Anita is represented by several galleries, in Florida, Ontario and the
Yukon. Anita’s works are proudly displayed in Corporate and private
collections in Canada, US, Ireland, and France and have graced the
covers of calendars, catalogs and promotional work.
Anita and her husband Kent spend their summer in beautiful Goderich on the shores of Lake
Huron,
Ontario, Canada and their winters in delightful Dunedin, Florida.
