Teaching is a big part of my art and I enjoy the challenges of workshops and weekly classes.

Workshops and Demonstrations can be available for your Group or Organization.

Please contact me.

In each workshop I always demo and encourage everyone to try different techniques on demo paper before starting our painting. I also work along with the class on "my painting". Everyone is given individual attention.

All of the techniques I teach can be applied to other subject matters - in whole or in part, in abstraction or in realism.

Each workshop ends with a constructive critique which is also known as "show & tell"!

Pouring Transparent Watercolors
In this workshop we will be pouring paint to create a beautiful glowing painting.  Any subject matter works for this – and you can create abstract or realistic paintings.  Pouring creates that look that cannot be duplicated through any other method.
Painting Crystal and Glass in Watercolor

If you LOVE to paint – this workshop is for you!  This is a “paint-along” workshop and along with a drawing available to you, a still life with good lighting will be setup as well.  Our goal is to learn to see “shapes” when painting amazing reflections in Crystal and Glass in Watercolor.

Painting FLOWERS – Larger than Life

In this workshop you will learn several different techniques that will make your flowers come alive, seem more realistic and yet keep a beautiful ‘painterly’ look – all in watercolors.

Majestic Landscapes
Majestic Landscapes – painting the “Rockies”
This workshop will inspire you beyond your imagination!  Have you seen the mountains?  If you have, you know they grip your soul and every part of you calls out to paint!  If you haven’t, photos will be available to inspire you!
We will be painting snow covered mountains, pine trees and reflections in water.
Painting Buildings using Textures – in Watercolor
In this workshop we will be focusing on different uses of salt to create beautiful textures buildings.  Together we will be trying several textures before deciding on the right ones for your painting.
Your painting could be an interesting doorway, a textured wall with a feature, an old window with weathered paint, etc.
Abstract Flowers
In this workshop we will be using ordinary items to sort of block out our center of interest.  We will be spraying paint, throwing masking fluid, throwing gesso, throwing paint, paint some fine line work and end up with a beautiful painting.
Painting Flowers – with a “Twist”
In this workshop we will be starting with watercolour – pouring and spraying…add some acrylics and gels if you like, maybe a little collage…and maybe some iridescent ink!  Of course there is a lot of fun between these steps to end up with a beautiful painting.
(Does not have to be Flowers – any subject will be work)
Paint a Story
Every painting tells a story – and in this workshop we will be building a painting.  This can be on canvas or watercolor paper – 140lb or 300lb CP.
We will be using Fluid Acrylics, gels, pastes, collages and Image Transfers.
It’s an exciting painting with amazing results.
Acrylics, Gels and Beyond!
This workshop is designed to show us how to broaden our horizons by going beyond the basics with acrylics and using different painting supports.  Each technique is a painting focusing on design and color.  We will be working on four paintings.
MIXED MEDIA – getting in the “Mix”

This mixed media workshop is action packed!  We will be working on:
Painting Acrylics on Canvas
Applying found objects
Creating our own stamps
Creating our own paper for collage
Image Transfers
Adding objects to a canvas
